Full course description

Location: Virtual (Teams)

Prerequisite: None

Full Schedule: Thursday, July 30 from 2:00 PM - 4:15 PM EST

Facilitator: Holly Murphy, MA, MOH, CWP, hollymurphy@tgh.org

Description:

Sleep is essential for both physical and mental well-being, yet many struggle to get enough rest due to personal habits and health issues. This program explores the sleep process—what's needed to fall and stay asleep—and offers practical sleep hygiene strategies to improve rest. By raising your sleep intelligence and prioritizing sleep, you'll be better equipped to embody the AKTiVe values by being yourself, leading with compassion, communicating honestly, and seeking support when needed.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the importance of sleep and what sleep deprivation does to us
  • List the poor sleep hygiene habits that interfere with sleep
  • Summarize effective strategies to improve sleep quality
  • Create a personal plan to improve sleep
  • Discuss how sleep relates to the AKTiVe values

Materials: Watch pick-up - Thursday, July 16 and Tuesday, July 21, from 3-8 pm in the Team Member Lounge (B104) located in the cafeteria at TGH Davis Islands
