Description
This session is a practical application of conflict management for participants who want to better understand and navigate conflict. Participants will identify a conflict and take a journey in diagnosing their own conflict considering the type of conflict present (personal, task, process). Additionally, participants will consider potential symptoms including perceptions, internal dialogue, and emotions. Once symptoms and diagnosis are addressed, participants will identify treatment options including avoiding, accommodating, competing, compromising, and collaborating. Finally, tips for resolution are discussed and the group will reflect on their personal insights about the conflict they analyzed and diagnosed.
Learning Objectives As a result of attending this session, you should be able to:
- Identify potential conflict symptoms
- Diagnose conflict- for yourself and others
- Explore different examples of conflict resolutions
- Create and apply a plan for conflict resolution
- Create a plan for improving group or team emotional intelligence that includes a step-by-step outline.
